Niger's estimated postharvest losses for millet in 2021 was 295,626 tonnes or 8.6% which had an estimated value of more than 135 million US dollar.
As for nutrition 1,076 billion kcal were lost, which is the equivalent of more than 1 million people, in terms of annual nutritional dietary energy requirements.
