Côte d'Ivoire's estimated postharvest losses in tonnes for millet ranged from 3,651 tonnes in 2003 to 4,470 tonnes in 2002. The estimated loss percentages have been unchanged over time at 11.2%.
Within the value chain, the majority of the postharvest millet loss is estimated to be happening at Harvesting/field drying. In Côte d'Ivoire, on average the highest quantity of millet production occurs in Savanes. Regarding nutritional losses, the number of people whose annual energy (kcal) dietary requirements could have been met with the estimated millet lost postharvest ranged from 15,852 people in 2003 to 19,408 people in 2002.
