Côte d'Ivoire, Rice, 2021

Côte d'Ivoire's estimated postharvest losses for rice in 2021 was 79,711 tonnes or 11.9% which had an estimated value of more than 71 million US dollar.

As for nutrition 278 billion kcal were lost, which is the equivalent of more than 331 thousand people, in terms of annual nutritional dietary energy requirements. In the value chain, the majority of the loss is estimated to be happening at Harvesting/field drying, Threshing and Shelling, and then Winnowing.
