Cameroon, Millet, 2004

Cameroon's estimated postharvest losses for millet in 2004 was 56,694 tonnes or 9.3%.

As for nutrition 206 billion kcal were lost, which is the equivalent of more than 246 thousand people, in terms of annual nutritional dietary energy requirements. In the value chain, the majority of the loss is estimated to be happening at Harvesting/field drying, Transport from field, and then Threshing and Shelling. Highest estimated postharvest maize losses in tonnes were estimated to occur in Far North.
