Cameroon, Rice, 2004

Cameroon's estimated postharvest losses for rice in 2004 was 5,996 tonnes or 11.2%.

As for nutrition 20 billion kcal were lost, which is the equivalent of more than 24 thousand people, in terms of annual nutritional dietary energy requirements. In the value chain, the majority of the loss is estimated to be happening at Harvesting/field drying, Threshing and Shelling, and then Winnowing. Highest estimated postharvest maize losses in tonnes were estimated to occur in Far North.
