Namibia's estimated postharvest losses for millet in 2019 was 583 tonnes or 4.2% which had an estimated value of more than 627 thousand US dollar, which corresponds to 0.1% of national agricultural GDP.
In the value chain, the majority of the loss is estimated to be happening at Transport from field, Harvesting/field drying, and then Threshing and Shelling. Highest estimated postharvest maize losses in tonnes were estimated to occur in Otjozondjupa.
