Namibia's estimated postharvest losses for millet in 2021 was 583 tonnes or 4.2% which had an estimated value of more than 708 thousand US dollar.

In the value chain, the majority of the loss is estimated to be happening at Transport from field, Harvesting/field drying, and then Threshing and Shelling. Highest estimated postharvest maize losses in tonnes were estimated to occur in Otjozondjupa.
