Within the value chain, the majority of the postharvest sorghum loss is estimated to be happening at Harvesting/field drying. In Namibia, on average the highest quantity of sorghum production occurs in Ohangwena. Regarding nutritional losses, the number of people whose annual energy (kcal) dietary requirements could have been met with the estimated sorghum lost postharvest ranged from 5 people in 2022 to 5 people in 2003.
