Rwanda's estimated postharvest losses in tonnes for wheat ranged from 1,523 tonnes in 2017 to 12,322 tonnes in 2007. The estimated loss percentages fluctuated between 13.5% and 14.3%.
Within the value chain, the majority of the postharvest wheat loss is estimated to be happening at Household-level storage. In Rwanda, on average the highest quantity of wheat production occurs in Northern.
