Sudan's estimated postharvest losses for wheat in 2021 was 87,058 tonnes or 12.9% which had an estimated value of more than 44 million US dollar.

In the value chain, the majority of the loss is estimated to be happening at Harvesting/field drying, Threshing and Shelling, and then Household-level storage. Highest estimated postharvest maize losses in tonnes were estimated to occur in Blue Nile.
