Zambia's estimated postharvest losses for millet in 2014 was 3,715 tonnes or 11.6%.

In the value chain, the majority of the loss is estimated to be happening at Harvesting/field drying, Market storage, and then Winnowing. Highest estimated postharvest maize losses in tonnes were estimated to occur in Northern.
