Zimbabwe's estimated postharvest losses in tonnes for millet ranged from 2,559 tonnes in 2015 to 30,320 tonnes in 2009. The estimated loss percentages fluctuated between 9.2% and 9.8%.
Within the value chain, the majority of the postharvest millet loss is estimated to be happening at Harvesting/field drying. In Zimbabwe, on average the highest quantity of millet production occurs in Masvingo.
