Within the value chain, the majority of the postharvest millet loss is estimated to be happening at Harvesting/field drying. In Benin, on average the highest quantity of millet production occurs in Alibori. Regarding nutritional losses, the number of people whose annual energy (kcal) dietary requirements could have been met with the estimated millet lost postharvest ranged from 10,511 people in 2015 to 21,604 people in 2007.
